6. Climbing type vegetables(pea, Indian bean, cucurbits, french bean etc.) can be trained on the fencing.
7. Staggered & successive sowing of one particular crop at short intervals should be done to ensure steady supply of vegetables.
8. The ridges which separate the beds should be utilized for growing root & bulb crops. Eg. radish, carrot, onion, garlic etc.
9. Early maturing crops should be planted together in continuous rows so that the area may be available at once for growing late crops.
10. Interspaces of slow growing & long duration crops (cabbage, caulifiower, brinjal etc.) should be used for growing quick growing & short duration vegetables (radish, turnip. paiak, amaranth etc.)
Crop Arrangement:
It is advisable to make a plan before undertaking the planting of a garden. The location of the plots, the crops to grown, the probable dates of planting, spacing between the plants, varieties of each crop to be used, intercrop& succession planting should be clearly indicated in the plan.
